NRCHA-PosterA perennial Snaffle Bit Futurity highlight is the National Reined Cow Horse Association Hall of Fame Banquet, honoring the people and horses who have earned elite NRCHA Hall of Fame and Hall of Merit status. The gala banquet also spotlights the stellar performers from the Snaffle Bit Futurity preliminary rounds with special awards for high scores in a variety of events and divisions.

Williamson guided the 9-year-old stallion to a 218.5 in the rein work, and then conquered an uncooperative cow in the fence work for a 224 - the highest score of Thursday's Open Bridle finals. The Championship paid $6,076.

Competition was fierce in the Non Pro Two Rein, where a pair of lifelong horse show pals, Tish Wilhite and Shelly Franklin, once again found themselves running at the same title.

In the end, one of those riders would take home the National Championship title as Shawn Flarida (Springfield, Ohio) and Rosanne Sternberg's Shiners Chic scored 223 for the victory.
