New Equine Vibration Plate Shakes Things Up at The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center
Written by JRPR
Ocala, FL – The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center is shaking things up with their new Equine Vibration Plate, designed to increase bone density and circulation in horses while at the same time reducing muscle soreness and inflammation. The Sanctuary’s Ocala location already features a vibration plate while the soon-to-open Wellington Sanctuary facility will have two vibration plates. |
Tip of the Week!! All too often an injury or surgery requires a horse to be put on “stall rest” to promote healing and/or prevent further damage. Horses were designed to be herd animals while walking and grazing for 20 hours a day. It should be no surprise the stress and problems stall rest can lead to. |
Tip of the Week!! Catherine Haddad, dressage alternate for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, knows that keeping her horses happy and healthy is a very big part of why she made it onto the WEG Team as the alternate rider.“When I travelled to the United States for the Dressage Selection Trials in July of 2010, I contacted my friend and student, Marian Nilsen, of KAM Animal Services to inquire about a feeding program for my top horse, Winyamaro. I have never used complicated feeding programs. Simplicity and quality have always been my keys to success in feeding my horses. KAM provided both! |

KAM Tip of the Week: Get It In Writing
Written by By Yvonne C. Ocrant, Esq.
Tip of the Week!! You may know that the Equine Activity Liability Act says that you “ride at your own risk.” However, liability protections do not apply to all causes of risk and all equine activities. A written liability release in any equine related activity is therefore essential for liability protection. A properly written and presented liability release provides advantages and protections not offered by the law. For example, a release provides an opportunity to receive, in writing, confirmation that the signer has read, understood, and agrees to accept the terms of your limitation liability policy. This alone may even deter the signer from filing a lawsuit. |
