British Maintain Team Lead as Dujardin and Valegro Shine in Olympic Dressage

A fabulous performance from Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro ensured that Britain maintains the lead in the team competition after the Dressage Grand Prix concluded at the London 2012 Olympic equestrian venue at Greenwich Park today. But the advantage is a very slender one, as Germany lies only just over half a point behind going into the medal-deciding Grand Prix Special next Tuesday. |

Olympic Dressage Is Next Up At Greenwich Park

After all the hustle, bustle and frantic excitement of Eventing over the last few days, it’s time to regain composure and settle down for the next equestrian discipline of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Greenwich Park. The first inspection of the Dressage horses took place yesterday evening, and all 50 were given the thumbs up to start. Tomorrow morning (2 August) Dressage action gets underway at 11.00 local time, when Denmark’s Anne van Olst and Clearwater will be first into the arena in the Grand Prix. |

Jessica Phoenix Top Canadian Olympic Team Member for Eventing

London, England - Canadian Olympic Team member for Eventing, Jessica Phoenix of Uxbridge, ON, finished in 22nd position individually on Tuesday, July 31, at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, GBR. In her Olympic debut, Phoenix steadily climbed up the leader board. In 50th position following the opening phase of dressage competition, Phoenix jumped a clear cross-country round on Monday, incurring only 2.4 time penalties over the demanding track set in Greenwich Park to move up into 28th position. She entered the third and final phase of competition, show jumping, with a score of 57.20 penalty points. |

The Germans Simply Do It All Again To Clinch Double Gold at Greenwich

Team Germany repeated their 2008 Olympic medal-winning performance when claiming Eventing team and individual gold at the London 2012 Olympic equestrian venue in Greenwich Park today. Such was their supremacy that they clinched the team title even before their last rider went into the ring, and Michael Jung set a new record in equestrian sport when becoming the first-ever event rider to hold Olympic, European and World titles at the same time. What a way to celebrate his 30thbirthday! |
