Al Guden of Hyperion Farm, Inc. was 40 before he sat on a horse, despite having a family history with horses. His dad was in Troop B, 101st Cavalry, and the last active New York cavalry unit before horses were traded in for motorcycles in the late 1930’s. A trip to Hawaii and a trail ride in Haleakala Crater made a horse lover out of him. Today, he runs a successful business based in Wellington, FL, breeding and selling the best Dutch Warmbloods around.

Al admits that having a network of expert consultants and friends is integral to Hyperion Farm’s success. He has competed in both hunter and dressage for many years. He and his late wife, Judy, owned a number of dressage horses as well as thoroughbred race horses. One of Judy's dearest friends is Carl A. Nafzger, a former championship Rode bull rider, and now thoroughbred horse trainer. Nafzger was the trainer of Kentucky Derby winners Unbridled (1990) and Street Sense (2007).

“We are pleased to have as consultants and partners Kathy Connelly and Toine Hoefs.” said Al. Kathy is an International rider, trainer and coach.

Connelly is a member of the High Performance Dressage Committee for USET and USEF. She trains in Massachusetts in the summer and Wellington, Florida in the winter.

Toine Hoefs lives in Erp, Holland at his farm, Stal Hoefs. Toine has been a breeding judge for the KWPN for over 20 years, and also in the United States at the prestigious Dressage at Devon Breed Show.

He has received international acclaim for many successful homebreds as well as his expertise in selecting young colts who have become world class stallions the stallions such as Ex Libris – Oldenburg and the Dutch Bred approved stallions, Uptown, Juventus and Washington.

"Judy had an incomparable with and sense of humor.  She was a natural comedic story teller.  Judy always looked on the bright side of life.  She carried her suffering with amazing grace and never complained.  The love of Judy's life was her devoted husband, Al.  Judy loved her involvement with her horses and was deeply committed to their best interest always.  I miss Judy very much but feel deeply her dynamic and luminescent presence."
