Dutch Studbook in North America Announces New Breeding Division Sutherlin, OR - August 6, 2003 - The Dutch Warmblood Studbook in North America (NA/WPN) is pleased to announce the introduction of a new breeding direction in North America. The new division, Dutch Hunters, NA/WPN, will support breeding for the hunter discipline and will compliment the current Riding Horse, Gelders and Harness Horse breeding goals. The NA/WPN is a department of the Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands (KWPN.) The purpose of this new division is to recognize the accomplishments of the NA/WPN horse in the hunter discipline, and to support North American breeders of NA/WPN horses which compete in this discipline, through performance tracking, registration options and an awards program. The horses in this division will meet the same stringent standards and requirements for which the KWPN horse is known world wide. A committee has been appointed to formulate the specific regulations, protocols and inspection procedures for the new division. This committee consists of two members 'at large' - Shelley Campbell, Aurora, OR and Leslie Carter, Little Rock, AK - as well as Susan Duncan and Mary Giddens, members of the Board of Directors of the NA/WPN. Dutch Hunters, NA/WPN will begin accepting applications for registration of horses with proven performance and/or production records in 2004 and inspections of breeding stock will begin in 2005. Please contact the NA/WPN office (nawpnnews@nawpn.org) for more information. NA/WPN |
