Donnerhall x Kennedy Colt, Oldenburg Licensing Champion 2003

Of the 80 young stallions presented, 49 received a positive evaluation at the Oldenburg approval which was held in Vechta for the very first time. Ten of these (by Donnerhall, Rubin Royal, Sandro Hit, Diamond Hit, Rohdiamant, De Niro, Landor S and Lordanos) were ranked in the Premium lot.

The winner, by Donnerhall-Kennedy/Trakehner, was bred by Dr. Klaus Michels, Kuddewoerde and was owned by Paul Schockemöhle. This dark brown stallion has been sold in the meantime to a couple from Britain , Sarah and Anthony Pidgley. The Reserve Champion stallion, by Rubin Royal-Calmiro (bred by Arsene Weiler, Luxemburg) will remain with his owner, Harli Seifert in Löningen, and the 2 nd Reserve Champion by Sandro Hit-Donnerhall (bred by Maik Kanitzky, Zuellsdofr) is owned by Gestüt Lewitz.

A total of 41 young stallions were sold at the auction, 21 of which were licensed and five of these Premium stallions. The 26 licensed stallions sold for a total of 1,142,500 Euro at an average price of 43,942 Euro. Eleven of the young stallions were sold abroad. The average price for the five premium stallions sold at the auction was 66,200 Euro and of these, the Ie Premium stallion by Rohdiamant-Rouletto (bred by Paul Rode, Lindern), was sold for the highest price of 90,000 Euro to Gestüt Sprehe in Löningen-Benstrup.

The 15 stallions that were not licensed sold for a total of 236,000 Euro at an average price of 15,733 Euro. Seven of these stallions were sold abroad.

The four elite jumpers that were sold in addition achieved 84,000 Euro in total. A Quattro B son, Querido, bred by Heinz Lüschen in Wardenburg, was sold to Saudi Arabia – a novelty in Vechta – for 33,000 Euro.

For the very first time, the Main Premium was divided according to emphasis on jumping and dressage: the Main Premium in the jumper lot went to Quidam's Rubin (by Quidam de Revel-Landgraf I, bred by Thomas Rieke, Altena) owned by Gestüt Sprehe in Löningen-Benstrup and in the dressage lot to Revan (by Rubinstein-Goldlöwe, bred by Heinz Lüers, Westerstede), owned by Gestüt Vorwerk in Cappeln.

Quando-Quando (by Quattro B, bred by Peter Wreesmann in Lastrup), ridden by Kristy Oatley-Nist and stationed at Gröhwohldhof, won the VTV Dressage Stallion award. The VTV Jumper Stallion award went to Forrester (by For Pleasure, bred by Heinz Grade in Twistringen), ridden by Sören Pedersen/Denmark, owned by Gestüt Appenriede in Winkelsett.

According to the unanimous opinion of the spectators, stallion owners and the organizer, the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta passed the acid test as the new location for the Oldenburg Hengst-Tage.
