2001 Dressage at Devon Dressage
at Devon Attracts International The six-day equestrian event is the highest rated international dressage competition outside of Europe, combining four days of world-class dressage with the largest breed competition in the world. Olympic medalist Robert Dover calls it "the standard by which all American horse shows should be judged." Dressage at Devon will be held from Tuesday, September 25 through Sunday, September 30, 2001. The show opens with the two and half day Breed Division, in which horses are judged for movement and conformation. Classes are organized by the age and the breed of the horse.
New to the show this year is the International Sport Horses of Color class. The division will also feature the Parade of Breeds at the conclusion of the individual breed classes. The winners of each class will be invited back to the competition arena and presented with a special award. Four of the top breed show judges in the world, including two from Germany, have accepted an invitation to judge the competition. The show is the East Coast Series Final for the Cosequin® USDF Breeder's Championship. |
