| The World, According to Garth Harrison by Shaana Pritchard
At "A", ENTER and meet Garth Harrison, 36 year old rider and trainer born
in Capetown, South Africa, and 14 year resident of the US. To fully appreciate
this article, you must imagine that you are hearing him speak in a lovely
British accent -- which mind you, when need be - he can turn on quite
thickly! As Garth tells it, he considers himself "an only child" because he
is the "only" rider in the family when, in fact, he has four brothers and
two sisters. At "X" Halt and Salute the parents of Garth Harrison, for they have raised a
son of compassion and caring. Garth's father was just starting a new
business in Capetown, South Africa. There just wasn't enough money for this "passing
fancy" Garth had for riding. (Sure, Dad, tell a kid he can't do something,
and just watch him put his nose to the grindstone. That reverse psychology
