2003 Dressage at Devon

Tamika DG, Grand Champion of the 2003 Devon Breed Show

It was a DG Bar day today. Not only did the farm claim the Mature Horse Champion's title with their stallion Contester, but they also collected the 2003 Devon Grand Champion's ribbon with their 2003 Young Horse Champion Tamika DG.

Tamika DG, a NAPWN registered chestnut mare by Wanroy x Werther, has been the delight of the judges panel this year at Devon. Winning the three-year old dressage horse suitability class, the Filly Championship and the Young Horse Championship, Tamika DG added the most wanted title of the entire Devon show, the 2003 Grand Champion's title, to her list of achievements. Praised for her suppleness, wonderful conformation and superb trot, Tamika DG stood out in every class she was entered in.

The Reserve Champion's ribbon went to Contester, a Holsteiner stallion by Contender x Lancetto. Bred by the German Gestut Charlottenhof and owned by ADARA Partners, Contester is a picture perfect of a modern sport horse: superb gaits, a solid conformation and he's just drop dead gorgeous.

Prior to his second place in the Grand Championship, the bay stallion Contester won the Mature Horse Class. Stationed at DG Bar Ranch, Contester beat the 6-year old maiden mare Audrey, a delightful Hanoverian by A Jungle Prince out of St. Pr. St. Faye (by Forrest xx). Audrey has a strong croupe, nice neckline and very flowing gaits.
