Mazarin has plenty of character. Bolton told of the time he went into her arena at home and there was a pile of manure in the middle, which she didn't think much of. He stopped, stared at it and he went 'wham, wham' with his front legs, tearing down the pile to nothing.

"He clearly was not happy about that horse," she smiled. "But he's a sweet guy to work with, although my groom might think he's a little more challenging."

"It's been a rush to get him ready, but it's been an incredibly fun time," said Bolton. "He's at Prix St. Georges this year, and I hope we can continue up the levels with him.
