2005 Dressage at Devon - American Junior Riders Championships

Meet the Riders - Noel Williams and Pik-L

The Williams family name has become a household name in the dressage world. What most did not know until this year is the talent of George and Roberta’s daughter, Noel. Noel has been riding since she was only five days old and has been riding ever since. Her first pony, Taylor and her used to race around the cross-country fields at Temple Farms where her father, George worked with the Lippizaner Stallions. After graduating from Taylor, Allure was purchased for Noel by her grandmother at age 9. Noel started her showing career aboard Allure at Training Level. Allure was sold when the families moved to Ohio to Gypsy Woods Farm, so Noel spent the next few years catch riding whenever and whomever she could.

Noel was introduced to Dr. Cesar Parra through her mother and father this winter when he offered the ride on Pik-L to her. “It was a huge honor for someone of Dr. Parra’s credentials to think of me for the ride. It was a little intimidating because Pik-L is such an incredible athlete, but Cesar put me at ease and has been awesome to work with. Anne Whitten, of Horses Unlimited, owns Pik-L and has been the best owner to ride for. She is super encouraging and really believes in me.”

Noel spent a month in England earlier this summer on a study abroad and then came back to try out for the juniors. Their season average coming into this competition was a 68.95% and they are one of the four members of Team Liberty. “I am so thankful to be a part of a team like this! The girls are so much fun and we have really bonded well. Our team is all about team work and sportsmanship, having fun and supporting each other.” The senior in high school is also a cheerleader in her spare time and has proven her cheering skills this weekend as she has cheered on her team mates.
