Kaitlyn Hamilton's Diary in Germany Follow the Experience of an American Young Rider Selected to Represent the United States at the FEI Young Rider World Cup Dressage Final Monday: December 12, 2005
The Canadian rider Julie, and I went up to the upper viewing room/dining room of the Schafhof to have our first newspaper interview. I was a little nervous, but the interviewer was very friendly and we were served coffee and cookies in front of the fireplace. The Interviewer didn't speak English very well, but my trainer Jochen helped with the translation. We took this photo for the newspaper which will be published on Thursday in Frankfurt. After the interview was over and the horses were tucked in, all of us went to an AWESOME tack shop in Bad Hamburg (near the barn) called "Reitsport--Zentrum". They had beautiful riding clothing and lots of supplies needed for the competition. After shopping, my parents and I wanted to try some authentic German food. The receptionist at the hotel gave us directions to a restaurant in Oberursel and we enjoyed Schnitzel, Pig Cheeks, and Rump Roast--it was so delicious! Did I mention that I love Germany? |
