Robin Brueckmann's Road to Belgium Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - Ready to Roll I had a lesson with Missy at ten. I got on Rocky at 9:30 and did some hill work with him first. We then went into the indoor for our lesson. We worked on parts of our IPEC tests; Rocky thought that it was far easier than the Intermediare II work he is used to! I rode through the Team test, which has been his bugaboo; he is so smart that he tries to do things before I can get around to asking for them. Missy said that he looks great. His trot felt particularly rhythmic and elastic. I feel ready! We got some more word on logistics from Laureen Zanzonico at USET today by fax. It's complicated.I went to visit my 97-year-old grandmother in the afternoon. This is my neck of the woods, although I live in North Carolina now. I grew up in Wilmington, and my parents still live there. My sister is in Kennett Square, PA, six miles from Blue Hill Farm. My folks are coming here for dinner tonight. No word yet from Missy when I ride tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my last ride before Rocky ships. We're ready to go! I got an email from Marlene Whittaker, who had done my new music. I had requested a longer entry, without any expectation that it would be ready for this competition. Marlene wrote that she was sending me the new music today. That was fantastic news! |
