Burke Hayner and Rantaro Top Field in FEI Prix St. Georges on First Day
of Competition at Dressage by the Bay I
Judging today's competition in Ring 1was Jeanne McDonald, and Leslie Weiss presided in Ring 2. Kelly Burke Hayner and Rantaro started out the four days of showing for Dressage by the Bay I and II with a win in the FEI Prix St. Georges Open division, earning a score of 69.00 percent. Judy Kelly and Rakker followed in second with a score of 66.250 percent, and Tonya Grant-Barber rounded out the top three with Nice Catch, earning a 65.250 percent. Winning the Prix St. Georges Junior/Young Rider division was Cantana and Betsy Van Dyke with a score of 64.00. The blue ribbon in the Adult Amateur section went to Barbara Butman riding Falkland Dragonfly with a score of 63.250. In the FEI Grand Prix Open division, which was a GAIG and USDF qualifying class, Milo Mott earned top marks with her own Marquis for the win, earning a score of 57.084. Mott also placed second with Imperial II and a score of 53.750 percent. Dorothy Mueller and Prinz Mero rounded out the top three places in the Grand Prix with a score of 48.750 percent. Victory in the USEF Fourth Level Open division went to Teah Bankes and Rudolfo, who earned a score of 66.279 percent. Katherine Heys and Martine Lando Lee took second with a score of 52.326 percent. Chris Graye and Samurei won the Adult Amateur division with a 66.745, and Carolyn Kotila was less than a point behind with a 65.814 percent for second place. Kayla Discher and Papparazzi won the USEF Fourth Level Junior/Young Rider division. The USEF Third Level Test, which was a GAIG and USDF qualifying class, was won by Nancy Kotting and Paleo in the Open division with an even score of 60.00 percent. Alicia Byber-Landman followed in second place with It's My Turn on a score of 59.535 percent. Christina Bello Patrick won the Adult Amateur division with Fidelio LHF, earning a score of 53.721 percent. Another qualifying class, the USEF First Level Test 4, was won by Carrie Van Cise and Voyager, earning a 67.106 in the Open division. Victory in the Junior/Young Rider section went to Suzannah K. Simon on Sam I Am with a score of 64.211 percent. Adult Amateur rider Margaret Bradley won her respective division with Special Ops on a score of 59.474 percent. Winners in the USEF Training Level Test 4 were Colleen Haveman and Savannah in the Open division with a score of 59.200 percent, while Anna Marek and Unico G won on a 77.200 percent in the Junior/Young Rider division.
