2007 Dressage at Devon Presented by WT Direct Jade Deter and Micaela Mabragana Win Again on Closing Day of 2007 Dressage at Devon
Deter, who won again with the 10-year-old Westphalian gelding Mastermind, said her clean sweep was a great way to end her junior season. Next year she’ll begin competing in the Young Rider division. She clearly loved her time at Devon. “It’s not like any other show. It’s the best show I’ve been at.” It’s also one of the friendliest, she said. “All the competitors, especially the riders I was competing against are very supportive and they’re happy with how every one does.” Mabragana, who won with the 11-year-old Swedish gelding Granada, was thrilled with her freestyle win, especially considering that the last time she rode it – at the New England Dressage Association’s Fall Festival two weeks ago – it was, she said, a bit of a mess. “But this time, everything went just the way it should.” Mabragana didn’t even really care about her scores. All she knew was that her freestyle, ridden to a medley of oldies, was going just as it should. “I didn’t know how the scores were but I was just so happy with how he felt. I was having so much fun out there.” She created the freestyle with the help of Lendon Gray. |
