Cornerstone to Manage League Finals and the World Cup Dressage Finals

This year brings a lot of excitement where Dressage in California is concerned. Glenda McElroy of Cornerstone Event Management Company has high hopes for California riders in a year that brings us the Pan American Games, fresh off the 2006 World Equestrian Games, where three of four U.S. Bronze medal-winning Dressage Team members were from California.

All the West Coast FEI riders are looking to the United States League Finals being held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center March 29-April 1. The League Finals are part of Festival of the Horse/CDI-W/Y Burbank. This is the first CDI and one of the most important competitions of the year. The League Finals will help select of the U.S. World Cup riders for the 2007 World Cup in Las Vegas, held April 18-21. The League Finals will also help select the six riders who will be invited to the $25,000 Las Vegas Invitational Grand Prix. The invitations for this class are based partly on rider rankings and on placement in the League Finals.

“With so many top ranked riders here in California, we are looking to Steffen Peters and Floriano, Guenter Seidel and Aragon, and Leslie Morse and Tip Top to be in the hunt for the two World Cup slots…The U.S. is going to have only two riders at the World Cup this year, unless we get a wild card, which we won't know until a week or so before the World Cup,” says McElroy, who is the manager for both the League Finals and the World Cup Dressage Finals. “I am hoping that some of the East Coast riders will be coming to the League Finals--Arleen Page, Michael Barisone and Catherine Haddad are some of the people who I have been told are interested.”
