Kimberly Vinoski and Over The Limit Lead In Dressage after the First Day

Kimberly Vinoski Lexington, KY - April 27, 2000 - A smiling Kimberly Vinoski told the media at the press conference, she knew she had nailed her dressage test, scoring a 39.2 percent (eventing scores in penalty points). The closest score during the first day of dressage at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event was 8.4 points higher, achieved by Karen O'Connor and Regal Scot.

"I began eventing at thirteen years old, but my Mom had drilled dressage into my basic training early on," Vinoski said. "I have trained with Mark Phillips, recently but have mostly been doing my flat work on my own.

Vinoski, from Scottsville, Virginia, riding the twelve year old thoroughbred gelding Over the Limit, by Thunder Puddles out of Silky Scarlett and owned by Linda E.A. Wachmeister, won the CCI*** at Rolex Kentucky in 1999, then went on to England to win the Advanced Horse Trials at Henbury, England.

Positioned as a favorite for the cross country phase, her comments on the cross country course gave credence to the difficulty facing the advanced riders of Michael Etherington-Smith's CCI**** course, the only Four Star Event in the United States. "It's big, very very big" .
