Radnor Hunt Has a Permanent Fox on the Grounds

When long time Radnor patrons, Marilyn and Anson Taylor's great white oak tree was struck by lightning, a vision began. Inspired by similar artistic endeavors on other cross country courses, a team went into action to produce Radnor's newest pride and joy.

"Breaking Cover" is a new face at Radnor, fittingly established on the 30th anniversary of one of the oldest and most respected events in America, the 2003 Radnor Hunt International Three-Day Event. In clear view of the kennels housing the Radnor hounds, the artistically carved fox is now permanently placed as a part of Fence 5.

Susan Mueller spearheaded this project, by finding local carver, Ben Risney. David Hucker coordinated the felling of the tree, and with the support of generous sponsors, Carol Atterbury, Toby Atterbury, Vita and Dick Thompson, Esther and Paul Gansky and Nancy and Dick Schwab and Matt and Anne Hamilton, there will always be a fox on the Radnor grounds.
