What: Over The Walls Advanced & Preliminary Horse Trials

When: July 30-August 1, 2004 - Competition begins at 8:00 a.m. daily.

Where: Great Meadowbrook Farm, Hardwick, MA

Featuring: Horse Trials are an eventing competition consisting of three distinct phases: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. Eventing competitions were originally held around the world to test the fitness and training level of cavalry mounts. Eventing has been an Olympic sport since 1912. The 2004 Over The Walls Horse Trials will feature the National Advanced Horse Trials Championship for The Jack Le Goff Trophy and it will be one of four U.S. qualifiers for the Eventing World Cup Final.

Over the Walls has also been selected to host a United States Eventing Association (USEA) Gold Cup Series event. The USEA Gold Cup Series includes seven of the nation’s premier eventing competition venues and promises spectators and enthusiasts everywhere an exciting format of competition to follow throughout the year. The Series offers increased prize money for competitors and the chance to vie for the grand prize purse and title of USEA Gold Cup Series Champion.

Over two hundred horses and riders will compete in three days of competition including elegant dressage on Friday, thrilling cross-country on Saturday and the exciting show jumping phase on Sunday with awards presentations after each division on Sunday.

Admission: The Over The Walls Horse Trials is open to the public free of charge with a $5 parking donation per carload. Proceeds benefit Windrush Farm Therapeutic Riding, Inc.
