Sally Cousins Claims Jersey Fresh CCI** Title

A Soft Rub Sets Back Clark

Beth Clark on MontgomeryClark had considered the 87-degree heat of cross country day might have sapped the stamina of his warmblood/Thoroughbred gelding.

"He was really tired today (in show jumping) but he warmed up well," said the Texas native who had his own business training horses and students. His Dutchbred/Thoroughbred, Silent Faith, "tried very hard and I probably opened up my upper body (position) a split second too quick over that vertical. It caused him to give it a soft rub behind."

That dropped him back into third but he had the best cross country time for the show. "It's great beating the coach," Clark said with a chuckle after his 51.8.
