Fédération Equestre Internationale "The three disciplines making up the equestrian triathlon are comprised of Dressage, a Cross-Country and a Stadium Jumping test. The Dressage test is a series of compulsory movements performed within a rectangular arena 60 m. long and 20 m. wide. Its goal is to assess the harmonious development of the physique and ability of the horse. The objective of the Cross-Country test is to prove the speed, endurance and jumping ability of the horse, while at the same time demonstrating the rider's knowledge of pace and the use of his horse. It consists of a natural solid obstacles course. The Stadium Jumping test displays the horse's suppleness and obedience over a course of 10 to 13 obstacles. Eventing is one of the three Olympic equestrian disciplines." |
