A Four Star Pony Is Born as Well As Puppies For Karen O'Connor!! Eventing Has Exciting New Superstar Theodore O’Connor the Flying Pony
“My
dog Bourbon had seven puppies in our camper Thursday night,” Karen
explained. “On Sunday morning they had their tails docked and
dew claws removed.” As Karen prepared for the final day of what
she has described the ‘time of her life’, the puppies rested
comfortably oblivious to the history their owner was about to make. Riding a pony for the first time in the only Four Star Eventing competition in the United States, Karen O’Connor and Theodore O’Connor had a smooth and submissive dressage test, flew around the huge Olympic level cross country course, and had one of only a few double clear stadium rounds finishing to a standing ovation, and third in an international field of thirty three horses. And cheering the team on was “Teddy’s” growing list of “owners” those who have bought into a syndicate created to help support his career.
Theodore O’Connor, whose grandmother was a Shetland pony, was conceived at Dr. P. Wynn Norman’s then “Ladies Mount Farm. Dr. Norman, owner of SportHorsePonies.com recently had an interview with HorsesDaily’s reporter Kelly Gage, and shared the story of how it all began...... |
