Book early and enjoy!Tennis Anyone? - Recently rated the 3rd finest tennis resort in the country by Tennis Magazine, The Broadmoor Tennis Club features seven plexi-cushion courts including one stadium court. Two of the courts are covered by an illuminated, heated bubble during the winter months, allowing for year-round enjoyment. Golf - Welcome to three of the finest championship golf courses in the world. Regardless of your handicap, you'll find golf at The Broadmoor challenging and enjoyable with tee markers of varying lengths on all three courses. Expert professional instruction, plus a quality selection of golfing accessories are available for sale or rent year-round. The Broadmoor has the distinct privilege of hosting the 29th U.S. Senior Open on the East Course in 2008. This will be the sixth time The Broadmoor has hosted a USGA championship. Local Attractions - Obviously your horse won't be joining you out west, but there's no reason not to bring the rest of the family. They may not enjoy sitting through the open forums as much as you will, but rest assured that The Broadmoor and the surrounding area offers a slew of activities to keep your loved ones busy and entertained. Pikes Peak Cog Railway - For 114 years, the Manitou and Pikes Peak Railway (the world's highest cog railroad, the highest Colorado railroad and highest train in the United States) has taken passengers to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak. Just 6 miles from downtown Colorado Springs, this classic Colorado train trip is now running year-round. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun - This is America's "highest" zoo at 6,800 feet on 50 acres, with more than 700 diverse and exotic creatures. U.S. Figure Skating World Hall of Fame and Museum - A collection of world figure skating memorabilia, films, books and history of inductees is located at the United States Figure Skating Association national headquarters which is adjacent to The Broadmoor. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10AM to 4PM. Group and private tours may be arranged in advance. U.S. Olympic Headquarters and Training Center - This is a year-round facility for Olympic training of summer and winter athletes with specific training facilities and equipment for 17 major sports including swimming, shooting, karate, boxing, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, cycling and skating. Garden of the Gods - This 1,300-acre park, a Registered National Natural Landmark of towering red sandstone rock formations is set at the foot of Pikes Peak. Walking and horse trails, picnic facilities and a visitor's center make the Garden of the Gods a great family experience. Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings and Museum - Opened in 1907, the Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings and Museum includes some of the finest architecture of the Cliff Dwelling Anasazi Indians. The outdoor preserve demonstrates the Anasazi's fine stonework with a dwelling of over 40 rooms that can be explored on a self-guided tour. |
