Magazine is Off and Running
Niagara Falls, NY (July 25, 2003) - Hot on the heels of a very successful premiere issue, the Summer issue of Blaze magazine is now available. Blaze is an innovative new project for horse kids… promising to impact the horse industry for generations to come. As the name implies, Blaze is a first-of-its-kind… a pioneer, full of energy and enthusiasm. Blaze combines the mix of entertainment and education that today's kids look for in magazines and websites. Kids want creativity and challenge, personality and personal connection. And they want to have fun. That's the Blaze difference… an interactive magazine that keeps the fun in horses and learning … a solid foundation for the horse industry leaders of tomorrow. Blaze magazine leads young horse enthusiasts to incredible discoveries about horses, about themselves, and about the world they both live in. Says Certified Horsemanship Association Program Director Julie Goodnight: "I love reading Blaze. It's a fun and informative magazine, even for an old horse lover like me. I sure wish there was a magazine like this back when I was a horse crazy kid." Blaze magazine and its dynamic website (www.blazekids.com) are full of amazing facts and fascinating articles on horses, horse kids and the natural world they share. Geared for kids aged 8 to 14, Blaze is also popular with the adult set. Tells one 4-H Leader, "I had to wait until my 10-year-old daughter went to bed to read it - she wouldn't let me have it. I read it cover to cover and loved it." The Summer issue features an inspiring conversation with GaWaNi Pony Boy. Riding Tips from the Superstitious, Don't-Stand-So-Close-To-Me Horse Show Safety, and Imprinting with Horses, name just a few of the other colorful articles. "Life Lessons from the Barn" is an informative piece for parents who "sometimes just don't get it," as our young writers put it. And what's more, Blaze is a magazine For Horse Kids By Horse Kids, thanks to the help of an Advisory Team of young riders. They contribute as keen interviewers and reviewers, writers and photographers. And they're always encouraging others like them across North America to do the same. Response from industry professionals has been very favorable. Monty Roberts applauded the efforts of Blaze, explaining that "the first half of my life was lived with the impression that I needed to change the minds of the high-ranking professionals in the horse industry. The second half of my life brought me to the realization that … it is the next generation that is important to the horse industry and to the horses too. Reaching to the youth of our industry and giving them an opportunity to learn is admirable." Says Jill Montgomery, Executive Director of the American Youth Horse Council: "Blaze is a fabulous avenue to share the excitement and fun of connecting kids through horses. The activities and articles speak to the young readers in their own language. I'm using many of the ideas from the last issue with kids at my ranch in Colorado." The magazine is available on its own (4 issues/year for $14.95) or as part of a membership to Club Blaze ($24.95), which includes a regular newsletter, a Blaze Merchandise Join-up Gift and access to a members-only Pen-Pal and Q&A Forum on the website. Blaze has something for everyone, including Group Discount Programs for Stables, Clubs and Associations. For more information, call 800-725-7136 or email: jeff@blazekids.com. |
