Morris Adds to Equine Publishing Group

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Morris Communications today signed an agreement to purchase Western Horseman magazine, based in Colorado Springs, Colo. The publication will become part of the company's Cowboy Publishing Group, which includes Quarter Horse News, Barrel Horse News and The Horsetrader.

The Morris equine network also includes the award-winning equine portal Web site, HorseCity.com, the leading monthly equine periodical in New England, The Horsemen’s Yankee Pedlar and Women’s Pro Rodeo News, published for the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association.

Western Horseman reaches more than 220,000 horse enthusiasts each month and is the largest-circulation horse magazine in the world. Published by Western Horseman Inc. since 1936, it has consistently led all other magazines in its field in subscription, single copy and advertising page sales. Editorially, the magazine focuses on all aspects of news and information relevant to owners and riders of horses.
