“The Pinnacle” - A Must for All Riding Instructors

The American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA) has scheduled “The Pinnacle”, its annual National Riding Instructors Seminar for November 18th-20th. All horsemen will benefit from the seminar and are welcome to register to attend. Speakers include George Morris, Michael Page, Denny Emerson, Susan Harris and Sgt. Jerry Mayo (Trainer for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police), as well as many others.

Those attending will interact with the speakers in small “round table” discussion groups, as well as attending their lectures. Some of the topics to be discussed are:

• Increase your lesson business by improving your marketing skills
• Improve your horses’ nutrition
• Set up and maintain your own web site
• Handle difficult students & parents
• Raise your teaching awareness and confidence
• Organize your books and records in the easiest and most effective way
• Make up clear lesson plans in advance for each student and each lesson
• Run successful clinics, shows & day camps
• Avoid your own burn-out
• Strategies to help each of your students progress and improve at the best pace for them
• Organize your personal and business time for top efficiency
• Establish effective barn rules
• Get the most insurance for your $$
• Protect your voice by using professional vocal techniques
• Making your lessons both safe AND fun

In addition to the three day seminar portion of the program on November 18-20, ARIA is offering a one day Test Center on November 17th for instructors seeking certification by the American Riding Instructor Certification Program. A welcoming reception for all attendees will be held on November 16th.

“The Pinnacle” will be held at The Registry Resort in Naples, Florida. The Registry is a world-class resort with white sand beaches, swimming pools, tennis courts, and a championship golf course. A health club offering a spa & massage will help attendees to relax after a busy show season. Those wishing to extend their stay to include some Florida sun and fun, may do so at the ARIA special discounted rate. (Families are welcome).

Space is limited at this Program and early registration is suggested. Call (941) 948-3232 to register or for further information.

ARIA was established in 1984 to help promote safe, knowledgeable riding instruction. The American Riding Instructor Certification Program (ARICP) is ARIA’s most successful way of meeting this goal. The objective of the ARICP is to improve riding instruction by identifying instructors who are competent, teach safely and who have high standards of integrity. This is accomplished through a testing process administered only at ARICP Test Centers. ARIA's official quarterly magazine, Riding Instructor, keeps its members informed of matters pertaining to their profession.
