Releases New Versatility Ranch Horse Video - Learn how to compete in
this fun and exciting event
Amarillo, Texas - June 30, 2003 - The American Quarter Horse Association has experienced tremendous growth with its Versatility Ranch Horse competition since it first debuted in 2002 and now there's a video to guide exhibitors and show managers through this exciting event. AQHA recently released "A Return to Our Western Heritage: AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse Competition." Hosted by "America's Horse" television front man Jeff Medders, this 26-minute video gives an overview of one of AQHA's newest competitions designed for the working ranch horse. Born at the request of AQHA members and others who wished for an AQHA-approved event which centered on the talents of a working stock horse, Versatility Ranch Horse competition demonstrates the versatility of the ranch horse in five categories - ranch riding, ranch trail, ranch cutting, working ranch horse and ranch conformation. Each of the five classes is explained including tips from exhibitors who have already competed in this groundbreaking competition. There's information about tack and equipment, prizes and awards, and procedures for hosting a Versatility Ranch Horse event. The video concludes with a complete run from each of the five classes. The video is available through Quarter Horse Outfitters, the official distributor of AQHA educational videos, at www.quarterhorseoutfitters.com or 1-888-209-8322. AQHA also has created a special Versatility Ranch Horse show marketing kit for show managers available at www.aqha.com. Select "showing" from the main menu then click on the "resources/links" menu bar to find promotion and marketing tips, and the Versatility Ranch Horse fact sheet.
