Qualifying Points for the 2004 AQHA World Championship Show

Amarillo, TX - January 16, 2003 - The qualifying season for the 2004 American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show is underway, and the recommendations for changes in required points have been approved.

AQHA's in-house World Show Committee uses a formula to determine the qualifying points. The committee then presents the recommendations to AQHA's Executive Committee for approval. For the 2004 World Show, scheduled November 6-20, points will increase in 16 open and 14 amateur classes. This year's World Show had an economic impact of more than $24 million and featured more than 2,290 American Quarter Horses.
