Virginia (USA) Bans Horses from FMD Countries

March 27, 2001 - The complexity of the Foot & Mouth outbreak in the European Union and potential impact on the Equestrian Industry in the United States has been demonstrated by the recent ban by the State of Virginia on horses from FMD infected countries. The State of Colorado has extended the ban to all horses from European Union countries until the threat of FMD is alleviated and outbreak contained in Europe.
