Olympic Medal Winning Dressage Horse Graf George Becomes The Third Bayer/USET Festival Of Champions Special Edition Model

graf george Gladstone, NJ-June 2, 1998

Become the proud owner of two-time dressage Olympic team Bronze Medalist Graf George as he becomes the third special edition model horse designed by Breyer for the Bayer/USET Festival of Champions. With the graceful arch of his neck and his flowing stride, you can almost imagine a horse dancing. The model, limited to 1,000 pieces, was introduced during the 1998 Bayer/USET Festival of Champions at USET Headquarters and Olympic Training Center in Gladstone, NJ.

Graf George was a member of the 1992 Bronze Medal winning dressage team at the Barcelona Olympics with rider Michael Poulin. In 1995 he was purchased by Richard and Jane Brown of Carlsbad, California, where he was to meet up with his current rider, Guenter Seidel. With only a few months of training together, the team of Graf George and Seidel swept trial after trial on their way to qualifying for the 1996 Olympic Games. They went on to become a part of the USET Bronze Medal team at Atlanta. Graf George and Guenter Seidel are expected to compete at the 1998 Bayer/USET Festival of Champions. In addition, at various times throughout the weekend, Seidel will be available for signing Breyer's Graf George model in the Festival's Children's Corral. In addition, don't miss the 4-H Model Horse Show taking place during the Festival!

The model horse hobby is experiencing ever-increasing popularity as more and more children and adults become involved in collecting and showing their horses. Earlier models have become valuable collectors' items worth hundreds, even thousands of dollars. In addition, the model horse hobby is ideal for those who don't own a horse or who just want to have fun among friends. Model horse shows are held around the country with model horse enthusiasts competing in various halter and performance divisions. Breyer, a division of Reeves International, Pequannock, NJ, is the maker of the world's finest model horses, tack and animals. Since 1950, its mission has been to maintain a standard of quality, authenticity, tradition and innovation. Each Breyer model is a work of art and craftsmanship that has led to an international network of collectors and model showers. Produced in durable cellulose acetate or fine porcelain, Breyer models appeal to discriminating collectors of all ages and are available in toy, tack and hobby stores nationwide.
