Rogers Offers Her Antiques Expertise At 7th Annual Gladstone Antiques
Show Presented by The Glemade Trust Company of New Jersey
Gladstone,
NJ-July 31, 2001- Sims Rogers of Maryland will serve as the Antiques
Dealer Liaison, offering her expertise and knowledge of antiques, at
the seventh annual Gladstone Antiques Show, 21-23, 2001, at the United
States Equestrian Team (USET) Olympic Training Center in Gladstone New
Jersey.
Rogers
has made her living in the antiques business since 1974. She has owned
antiques shops in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and on the Eastern Shore
of Maryland and has done all types of antiques restoration from furniture
to paintings. She has been a consultant, appraiser, lecturer, and instructor.
Additionally, she has been the producer and manager of the highly-acclaimed,
semi-annual Mid Atlantic Antiques Market, a two-day antiques show catering
to the Baltimore - Washington, DC community.
Sims Rogers,
a southerner by birth, earned her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from
the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
The Gladstone
Antiques Show will also feature members of the USET's tremendously successful
Sydney 2000 Olympic Eventing, Dressage and Show Jumping teams hosted
by Mintz & Associates, Inc. The Olympians will serve as the Honorary
Co-Chairs of the Friday evening Preview Party, a premier social event,
sponsored by Knickerbocker, LLC and hosted by Town & Country Magazine.
Equestrian
enthusiasts and antiques collectors alike will have the opportunity
to meet the Olympic athletes throughout the weekend. Among the Olympians
invited are Eventing Individual Gold Medalist David O'Connor, members
of the Bronze Medal Eventing and Dressage teams, and the Show Jumping
team which includes New Jersey resident Nona Garson. Over 50 dealers
from throughout the nation will be offering a wonderful variety of 17th,
18th and 19th century antiques for sale. "The Fall Garden" theme of
this year's show will showcase unique garden collections of antique
dealers as well as paint country and period furniture. The show will
also feature fine early American, English, and Continental furniture
and formal decorative arts, paintings and prints, silver, and oriental
rugs, as well as a large selection of folk art and Americana. All antiques
are authenticated and guaranteed by the dealers.
The European
architectural achievement of the USET headquarters provides an appropriately
unique setting for the antiques show. Dealers will display their antiques
in the elegant stable facility as well as the spacious indoor arena.
The facility was originally part of the resplendent country estate of
James Cox Brady and at its zenith sprawled over 5,000 acres. Spectators
will also enjoy the equestrian exhibitions to be presented throughout
the weekend. The event is easily accessible from all New York and New
Jersey points by major interstates 78 and 287.
New to
this year's schedule is an exciting scavenger hunt, courtesy of Tree-Tech,
with participants winning gift certificates for use at the show. The
weekend will feature a Saturday Afternoon Tea hosted by the Olde Mill
Inn of Bernardsville and Saturday's Champagne Brunch hosted by Hamilton
Farm Golf Club while Sunday's Champagne Brunch will be hosted by Peapack-Gladstone
Bank. Musical entertainment for the weekend is courtesy of Richard A.
Eisner and Company. Paul Miller Motors will host a display of luxury
automobiles throughout the weekend. Other sponsors include Gary's Wine
and Marketplace and Dubrow's Landscape, Inc.

having been associated with the Gladstone Antiques Show as an antiques
dealer for the past four years, I am really pleased to have been asked
to become even more involved with the production of the show. It is

Daily general
