USOC Hearing Panel Denies Motion to Dismiss Equestrian NGB Challenge

Gladstone, NJ—June 1, 2001—A United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Hearing Panel has denied the American Horse Shows Association (AHSA) motion to dismiss the U.S. Equestrian Team (USET) challenge regarding which organization should be the recognized National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of Equestrian. The Panel’s denial was by unanimous decision.

The Hearing Panel, made up of five voting members of the USOC Board of Directors, was appointed by USOC President Sandra Baldwin for the purpose of hearing the Challenge. In issuing the denial of the AHSA’s motion to dismiss the Challenge, the Panel directed the AHSA to file an answer to the Challenge no later than 20 days after the May 31 decision.
