Gladstone Antiques Show Returns To Benefit The USET
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Gladstone, NJ - March 4, 1998 Excitement mounts among antiques enthusiasts across the country as the United States Equestrian Team (USET) prepares to welcome the public, rain or shine, to its Headquarters and Olympic Training Center for the fourth annual Gladstone Antiques Show, presented by the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies September 11-13, 1998. Managed by the Antiques Council and set inside the magnificent stables of the USET, the Gladstone Antiques Show enjoys a location unlike any other. Its European style architecture and equestrian theme provide a magnificent backdrop for the beautiful antiques and special events. This year the show welcomes the return of Elinor Gordon and her prized porcelain collection as well as over 50 of the Antiques Council's finest dealers from all over the United States. A wonderful variety of 17th, 18th, and 19th century antiques will be offered for sale. American, English and Continental furniture, decorative arts, paintings, silver, jewelry, oriental rugs, Chinese export, folk art and Americana are just some of the items offered. In addition to shopping for authentic and guaranteed antique treasures, enthusiasts may take advantage of the show's educational lecture set in the USET's Whitney Stone Library on Saturday, September 12, at 1:30 pm for $15.00 per person. Other events include a Gala Preview Party on Friday September 11, sponsored by U.S. Trust Company of New Jersey, with music by celebrated pianist Bob Egan; Saturday's Champagne Hunt Breakfast hosted by Peapack Gladstone Bank; an afternoon tea; and a Champagne Hunt Breakfast on Sunday. Reservations are required for all special events and seating is limited. Presentations unique to the Gladstone Antiques Show are the carriage driving demonstrations and dressage exhibitions held on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm and Sunday from 12:00 noon till 2:30 pm.
