Establishes Show Jumping Young Rider Committee

NJ The United States Equestrian Team (USET) continues to demonstrate its commitment to investing in its future by announcing plans to establish a USET Show Jumping Young Rider Committee. Mrs. Elizabeth Forte, mother of acclaimed young rider Amanda Forte, has been nominated to serve as the USET Show Jumping Young Rider Committee Chairman. She and her committee will report to the USET Show Jumping Developing Rider Committee which is a sub-committee of the USET Show Jumping Committee. The Committee's responsibilities include working with the two current show jumping committees to develop innovative programs for Young Riders, supported by specifically earmarked funds. To date, the USET has received a Young Rider contribution of $10,500 with matching pledges of $10,000 for 1998 and 1999. Anyone interested in joining Mrs. Forte and her committee, or in supporting the USET Show Jumping Young Rider programs, should contact Sally Ike, USET Director of Show Jumping Activities, at (908)234-1251. The USET is the not for profit organization responsible for selecting, training, funding and equipping those athletes that officially represent the U.S. in the Olympics, Pan American Games and other international equestrian competition in the five disciplines of Combined Driving, Dressage, Endurance, Show Jumping and Three Day Eventing. |
