Hampton Green Farm Announces its 2006 Forum for Riders of Spanish Horses for Dressage

On Monday, March 20th, the public is invited to attend Hampton Green Farm's second Wellington Forum for Riders of Spanish Horses for Dressage. Following the success of the Spanish Team in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, there has been a surging interest in the Spanish Horse, which is currently the world's fastest developing sport horse breed. Pati Pierucci and Kathy Connelly will lead a casual informative demonstration of their training methods with these horses, from Second Level through Grand Prix.

Other Wellington area riders, including Grand Prix professionals and competitive amateurs, will also be riding and discussing their work with their horses and clients. The horses involved in the day are all actively training and competing in Wellington and other places around the country, from just-started young horses to horses with international FEI records.

Forum Topics include:
Long and Low with the Spanish Horse: Does it work?
Developing Piaffe and Passage with Kathy Connelly
Stallion Handling and Management for the Amateur
The Kur: the Forte of the Spanish Horse
The Progress of the Spanish Horse in International FEI Competition

Former USET Member, USDF Judge, and Trainer, Kathy Connelly has been working with Hampton Green stallions and Pati Pierucci for three years. She has been a visionary and leader within her circles for her endorsement of the breed for dressage in American competition, and her unique talents at training the piaffe and passage are complimented by the breed's natural abilities in these areas.

Grand Prix rider Pati Pierucci leads the nation in dressage distinctions and awards with Spanish Horses and is currently riding two Grand Prix Spanish Stallions as well as a number of young horses for Hampton Green. ohn Zoppati has trained Spanish horses for several years and participated in the 2004 Kentucky Horse Park Symposium with Conrad Schumaker with a Spanish Horse.

Cheri Reiber is a former USET member and Head Trainer at Medieval Times of Canada. She and Tom Reid, Head Trainer for Medieval Times in Orlando, every year provide the equestrian demonstration at the Palm Beach Derby's USET Luncheon. Cheri will be riding her Prix St. George stallion and Tom will be working with several of the young horses during the day. Many other horse and rider pairs will also be featured.

Luncheon will be prepared by Galipette Restaurant and Club. The event will be held from 9 to 5.30 at Hampton Green Farm, 13285 Southfields Road, Wellington.

Auditor's Fee is $25.00 per person. For reservations please call: 231-865-6000.
