Bayer Legend™ NRCHA Celebration of Champions Slated for February 19-26

World's Greatest Horseman

NRCHA World Championship Show

Southwest Reined Cow Horse Association Derby

All in One Great Show!

December 22, 2004 - The Bayer Legend™ NRCHA Celebration of Champions will take over the Cowboy Capitol of the World when the eight-day event begins in Stephenville, Texas February 19.

The newly-created event combines the popular World's Greatest Horseman with the National Reined Cow Horse Association World Championship Show and Southwest Reined Cow Horse Association Derby. All the events will run concurrently, giving reined cow horse fans a chance to see every facet of reined cow horse competition – from snaffle bit to bridle – from Non Pro Limited to the most elite of All Around competition.

“We think this event will be an amazing gathering of the best of the best,” noted NRCHA President Benny Guitron. “There’s never been a show like this, and the association recognizes Bayer for the part it’s playing in making this dream show a reality.”

Guitron continued, “This will be the largest cow horse event in the world – and I think it is the largest step forward we have ever made in really uniting the cow horse world.”

Dr. Kenton Morgan, of Bayer Corporation, noted, "Bayer is excited about the opportunity to partner with the NRCHA for 2005. These horses are some of the greatest equine athletes anywhere. This discipline combines all the skills that define a true cow horse. The owners, trainers and riders of these magnificent animals are dedicated to the health and well-being of their athletes and that is why this partnership is such a natural fit for Bayer. Everyone in this association is great to work with, so it is truly a pleasure to be involved with such great horses and a first-class group of people. We look forward to Bayer being a part of the NRCHA for many years to come."

The week of competition will culminate with the NRCHA World Championship Awards Banquet on Sunday, February 27.

The National Reined Cow Horse Association, the governing body of cow horse competition, is responsible for promoting the sport, insuring high standards of competition and educating members and the public about the history and tradition of the cow horse. Through the support of a Corporate Partner family that includes Bayer Corporation, Bailey Hat Company, Bob's Custom Saddles, Cinch, Inc., Classic Equine, EQ Solutions, MD Barns, Platinum Performance, Inc., Nutrena, Skyline Gold and Silversmiths, Sundowner Trailers, National Ropers Supply, Quarter Horse News & Western Horseman magazine, the Reno Hilton, Dan Gamel's RV Centers, Farnam products Vetrolin Liniment and Farnam dewormers IverCare, ComboCare, LiquiCare P and Continuex, Rios of Mercedes, Great American Insurance Company and the Silver Legacy, the association works to keep the vaquero tradition alive in today’s equine industry.
