Fiesta in the Park Announces Fiesta Affiliate Championship The Fiesta in the Park, slated for August 24-28, will host the Adequan 2005 United States Equestrian Federation Reining Championships, but there’s much more to this show than the headliner event. One of the special activities at the Fiesta, according to Cheryl Magoteaux, whose Pro Management, Inc. has created the show, is the Fiesta Affiliate Championship competition. “In keeping with our goal of having an event where everyone can feel a part of the Adequan US Equestrian Federation championship competition, we have included a complete slate of NRHA approved classes that are open to everyone – from rookies to open riders. In this way NRHA exhibitors have a chance to compete right alongside the USEF exhibitors because everyone really is a part of Team USA,” Magoteaux noted. “The Affiliate team competition gives representatives a chance to compete for cash prizes for their local reining clubs.” Chris Potter, Vice President of Pro Management, noted, "Besides the Fiesta competition for Affiliates, affiliates may opt to use the Fiesta as an event to count for their year-end standings." NRHA Affiliate associations that send 8 designated members to represent their affiliate have the opportunity to win special Fiesta Affiliate Championship cash awards. The top finishing members can earn their affiliate $1000 for first, $500 for second and $250 for third place – money the affiliate club can use for their own year-end awards or any other worthy cause. The points from the eight designated individuals competing in the NRHA approved classes will be totaled (10 points for first, 9 for second, and so on in each class). There is no entry fee for the affiliates and the cash awards, plus a special perpetual trophy, will be given at the end of the Fiesta.
