Southwest Reining Horse Association Announces Billingsley Ford Open Futurity

Tim Lynch, President of the Southwest Reining Horse Association, announced on June 4 that Billingsley Ford of Ardmore, Oklahoma has increased its sponsorship support of the annual SWRHA Futurity and will become the naming sponsor of the Open Futurity, beginning with the 2006 event.

The Billingsley Ford Open Futurity will take place October 26-29 at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore. According to Lynch, the decision for Billingsley Ford to play a larger role in the futurity was made because of the already strong relationship between the auto dealership and the reining industry.

“Billingsley Ford already has tremendous involvement in reining,” noted Lynch. “They supply pickup trucks to many of the top trainers in the industry and they were ready to step up their sponsorship and become more involved.”

Lynch worked with owner Mike Billingsley and Donnie Gillham, Ford Truck Sales Manager, to create the new 2-year sponsorship agreement.

The Billingsley Open Futurity will be the headline event at the 2006 Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity, an event that has already seen an added money increased of over $35,000, due to the funds raised from the SWRHA OnLine Stallion Auction. That increase boosted the total added money to over $100,000 for the show.
