October 30, 2006 2006 SWRHA Futurity Concludes With Rookie & Limited Non Pro Classes The 2006 Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity wrapped up October 29, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, after naming champions in the Rookie and Limited Non Pro classes. The event, which began Wednesday, October 25, paid out more than $150,000 during its five-day run at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum. Twelve-year-old Jordan Donnelly finished the 2006 event with a bang – topping the 73-entry Limited Non Pro class. Jordan, from Aubrey, Texas, marked a 73.5 to win the class and $204 riding Hollywood All Star, by Hollywood Dun It and out of Judy Elderberry. Jordan followed Jim Babcock and AQHA World Champion Cowboy Smarts after they marked a 72 and knew she would have to really step up to win the Limited Non Pro title. “He’s really great,” Jordan said of her horse. “I’ve never gone that fast with him and this is the highest score I’ve gotten with him. It felt really great.” Jordan and Hollywood All Star also picked up the Youth 13 & Under Championship earlier this week. “It’s fun having him and it’s fun having so many people cheering for me,” she said. “I’m grateful for it.” In the 52-entry Rookie class, Carson Underwood and Mark This Treasure posted a 72 for the Championship. From Paragould, Arkansas, Carson and Mark This Treasure, by Mark This Spot and out of Nixys Treasure, picked up $109 for the win.
