Kimberly Frey and Bergerac Lead USET World Equestrian Games Show Jumping Selection Trials at the Conclusion of Trial #1

Del Mar, CA- July 20, 2002—Kimberly Frey of Hume, VA and Bergerac a 13-year-old Selles Francaise gelding by Ightshade out of Rose Des Loyons, and owned by Overlook Farm, Stomeville, North Carolina, lead a starting field of 38 horse-and-rider combinations after the first of six United States Equestrian Team (USET) Show Jumping Selection Trials. The trials for the World Equestrian Games to be held this September in Jerez, Spain began Saturday at the Del Mar Horse Park in Del Mar, CA.

Out of the starting field, seven horse-and-rider combinations turned in clear rounds. Those who lead the field after their penalty free rides on Saturday are:

1. Kimberly Frey/ Bergerac
2. Lauren Hough/ Clasiko
3. Christ Kappler/ Rafiki
4. Beezie Madden/ Judgement
5. Nicole Shahinian Simpson/ El Campeon’s Cirka Z
6. Will Simpson/ El Campeon’s Add Annie
7. Ray Texel/ Lexicon
