USA Equestrian Announces Results of Green Hunter Pony Championship August 8, 2002 - Lauren Hogan, a ten year old from Tampa, Florida, rode her own small pony, Miss Australia, to win the 2002 Wild Horsefeathers/USA National Green Hunter Pony Championship held August 6, 2002. The championship was held as part of the USA Pony Finals being held August 6-9, 2002, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. As Champion, Lauren received a Beval saddle, donated by Berk Lee and The Tack Box of Middleburg, Virginia.Exhibitors went head-to-head in competition competing in an over fences class, a model class and an under saddle class, competing against riders from across the nation to vie for top honors. Competitors qualified to compete in this event by winning a Champion or Reserve Champion at an "A" or "AA" rated USA Equestrian competition between Dec. 1, 2001 and July 1, 2002. This competition was made possible through the generous donations of Wild Horsefeathers and Robin Greenwood/Tinker Hill Ponies. Overall

The judges for Green Hunter Ponies were: Rob Bielefeld of Ithaca, New York; Patrick Rodes of Argyle, Texas and Scott Williamson of Wellington, Florida. The USA Pony Finals runs through Friday and will include the Pony Medal, Small, Medium and Large Pony classes as well as the Team and Individual Jumper Championships. |
