Mar International Horse Show May 6, 2005- West Palms Communications is proud to present the 2005 Del Mar International Horse Show (Sept. 29th – Oct. 2nd 2005.) at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The $50,000 HBO World Cup Grand Prix of Del Mar, presented by Mary's Tack & Feed will take place Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 @ 7pm. The course will be designed by world renowned Olympic course designer, Leopoldo Palacios of Caracas, Venezuela. Some of the United States’ top horse and rider combinations will compete for a chance to participate in the 2006 World Cup Finals taking place next April 26 -30, in Kuala Lumpur. For the first time, the Del Mar International Horse Show will host a Select Sport Horse Sale. Saturday, Oct.1, 2005, @ 3pm. The sale will feature 45 horses from a variety of 2 yr., 3yr., and 4yr. olds, to professionally trained, quality show horses. The horses are trained in various disciplines, from hunters, jumpers, to dressage. Horses will be available for viewing, and trials begin Thursday, Sept. 28, 2005. For more information, please visit www.jumpdelmar.com. A workshop with world renowned Grand Prix Rider, Richard Spooner will also take place Saturday, Oct.1, 2005 @ 5pm before the Grand Prix. This informational session is open to the public, and the Southern Region Pony Clubs have also been invited to attend. The workshop will give individuals a chance to ask questions and receive advice from one of show jumping’s star athletes. As a special treat, the Del Mar International Horse Show will host the 1st annual $1000 Doggie High Jump. Preliminaries will take place @ 5pm Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005. With finals taking place @ 7:15 pm Saturday, October 1, 2005. For a $10 entry fee, dog owners from the community will be given the opportunity to display their dog’s athletic ability.
