USET Foundation and Aron Family Host Spectacular Party at The Hampton Classic Horse Show
The event was held on Thursday, September 1, at 5:30 p.m., at the USET Foundation chalet on the showgrounds of the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, NY. Decorating the chalet were “photos of the riders and horses from the super league nations cup competitions in Europe this year that capture the athleticism and extraordinary beauty of our incredible human and equine athletes,” said USET Foundation Executive Director, Bonnie B. Jenkins. The party was held to honor and congratulate the United States teams that participated in the Samsung Super League this summer in Europe. “We wanted to show our appreciation and let them know how proud we are of not only their success but also how well they have represented our country,” commented Jenkins. Chef d’Equipe George H. Morris was also on hand to speak to the crowd, as were riders Laura Kraut and McLain Ward, who likened their win in Aachen, Germany, to that of winning an Olympic gold medal. Morris, Kraut, and Ward also voiced their gratitude for the support of the country and the importance of continued funding for riders at international events. They thanked the owners of the horses used in the Samsung Super League, noting their significance to the “Team” and extending their gratitude for their support. Other Super League riders that attended included: Anne Kursinski, Jeffery Welles, Callan Solem, Christine Tribble McCrea, Aaron Vale, Todd Minikus and Nona Garson. The Super League riders that could not attend were: Georgina Bloomberg, Beezie Madden, Schuyler Riley, and Kim Prince. The Samsung Super League has their final event in Barcelona, Spain, on September 16, 2005. Currently, the United States is leading the standings with 43 points, with Germany close on their heels with 39 points, and Great Britain has 37 points. The Samsung Super League consists of eight of the most prestigious horse shows at which the world's eight best national teams compete head to head.
