A Jon Kassel PhotoUpper Marlboro, MD – October 4, 2006 - Geographic restraints will no longer keep horse sport fans from enjoying the Capital Challenge Horse Show. Using today’s streaming video technology, the Capital Challenge is bringing the show to you. At www.capitalchallenge.org clicking on the streaming video link will bring you face to face with the action in the main ring. See the arena, the judges, the presenters, and of course, the horses and their riders. There is no longer a need to rely on a friend’s description, instead, see if for your self.

Teaming up with Equestrian Sport TV, the events from the Show Place Arena are now broadcast daily, providing real-time viewing to fans of the equestrian world who can’t get to Upper Marlboro, Md. Streaming video is the newest addition to the coverage of the horse show available on the web. Five years ago the management of Capital Challenge redesigned their web site to publish written coverage, daily photos, and searchable results. This year’s streaming video will give the opportunity to an unlimited number of equestrians to enjoy the show.

Word traveled quickly and on Monday alone there were over 4,000 people who watched the video stream.

Equestrian Sport TV is a collaborative project by Oliver Kennedy, Brooks Moore, and Jon Kassel. Equestrian Sport TV brings multimedia coverage of horse sport to a World-wide audience by using the Internet to deliver real time and recorded content and avoid the geographic and time limitations of traditional broadcast media.

www.capitalchallenge.org is a comprehensive site, which changes hour to hour through the nine days of the show. Visitors making multiple trips to the site in one day will frequently find new content. For those stuck in an office or are home sick, you are not only able to see judges’ scoring, but you can watch the phenomenal talent that is drawn to one of the top hunter/jumper shows in the nation.
