During a live auction, some rare collector's items went under the hammer including one of six limited reproductions of Jan Tops’ Olympic Gold Medal winning horse, Top Gun, and the riding boots that Austria’s Thomas Frühmann wore during three of his Derby victories.

In a special presentation on Saturday night, the Global Champions Tour will hand over a cheque of 100,000 Euros to JustWorld International during the Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco, Presented by J&S Group. This is made possible thanks to such sponsors as CN WorldWide and Chesapeake Petroleum.

“I am very impressed by the work that Jessica Newman does with JustWorld International, and we are very proud to be part of it," explained Anita Ernesaks, Global Managing Director of CN WorldWide.

Jessica Newman, founder and Executive Director, was thrilled by the level of support shown for JustWorld International, a not-for-profit organization working in impoverished countries for the benefit of underprivileged children. "Last night was just great," said Newman. “We will dedicate this money to helping children at our project sites with health support, education and nutritional programs."

The fundraising event was held on the Monte-Carlo Beach "Deck", where top show jumping personalities mingled with Monaco’s high society. The party lasted into the early morning, with entertainment provided by the 'Goldsingers' accompanied by Brazilian dancers. Live action cooking representing five continents provided culinary treats.

Turning back to the sport, top show jumping continues in the famous harbour of Monaco. The Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco on Saturday night will be the third stage of the Global Champions Tour. Michel Hecart (FRA), currently ranked fifth with 20,000 Euros earned on the Global Champions Tour following his third place finish in Cannes, is very happy about the new series. “Our sport costs a lot of money. Finding people like Jan Tops who take the initiative, and companies like CN that offer their support, is very important for the future of our sport," noted the Frenchman. Hecart thinks his own chances for success in the 150,000 Euros Grand Prix are good. "In Itot du Chateau, I have a little horse which is very flexible. That could be an advantage for me."
