Horse Shows by the Bay I is the pair’s first outing since leaving the Dixon Oval in May with the Devon Champion Green Conformation. Owner Janet Read believes that the excellence of the venue allowed her horse to perform brilliantly as he edged out Holly Orlando and Dr. Brad Wolf’s Rio Renoir for the tri-color.

“Management has done a spectacular job of setting up the show grounds this season, the Main Hunter Ring rivals any that we have shown in this year, including WEF and Devon. This show will become the Wellington of the North, it has everything a competitor could want plus it is located in a family friendly resort town with tons of personality” said Janet Read. Judge Randy Mullins agreed, “It’s the nicest horse show I’ve been to this year”.

Horse Shows by the Bay, Series I, II, and III are rated “AA-Hunter” and “Four Star-Jumper.” Show Jumping Highlights include a weekly Regional Level $25,000 Grand Prix, $10,000 Welcome Prix at Level 7, $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior/Amateur Owner Prix, $2500 Children & Adult Jumper Classics, $2500 Junior/Amateur Owner Low Jumper Classics and $1000 Young Jumper Qualifiers. Hunters compete weekly for $35,000 prize money with added classics featuring Junior, Amateur, Children, Adult, and Pony Riders.

Four charity events are scheduled this season. A Ride for the Ribbon $1000 2’6” Hunter Classic and Silent Auction will benefit breast cancer research and a Wine Tasting Party, Golf Cart Giveaway, and Silent Auction will benefit CANTER, the Communication Alliance for Networking Thoroughbred Ex-Horses. A Kid’s Day featuring a petting zoo, K9 agility demo, and a behind the scenes barn tour will benefit the Leelanau 4H and the “Fiesta for Hope” Equestrian Aid Foundation Fundraiser and Live Auction with 6 time Olympian Robert Dover will be the highlight of the final week of competition and coincide with Zada Enterprises, LLC Dressage by the Bay.

Dean and Alexandra Rheinheimer of Wellington, Florida produce the three-week equestrian festival in Traverse City, Michigan during the month of July. The Horse Shows by the Bay series is sanctioned “AA” Hunters and 4 Star Jumpers by the United States Equestrian Federation and Zada Enterprises, LLC’s Dressage by the Bay is recognized by both the United States Dressage Federation and Equine Canada. Traverse City is famous for their award winning vineyards, cherry festival, restaurants, climate, pristine beachfront, golf courses, shopping, and casinos.
