Information
The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic has become the premier equestrian
and social event on the North Shore of Boston. It hosts some of the
most successful equestrians in the world, including past Olympians.
Riders with high hopes for the future have the opportunity to compete
in the many amateur divisions offered throughout the week. The Masters
Division makes The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic a destination
show for riders of all ages, from all over the country. The social
scene is always a favorite at this unique venue. This year the featured
VIP Kick-Off Party is sponsored by Boston Common Magazine at Misselwood,
Endicott College's ocean-side venue with over five hundred attendees
expected.
This
year "Ultimate Resort Family Day" will be on September 8th. Come
and meet Ms. Massachusetts and Ms. Teen Massachusetts, they will
be taking picture with the kids and signing autographs. On
Saturday, September 8th, 2007, Ultimate Resort Family Day activities
begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Jumper Classic. The lineup of family
activities includes the ever-popular event for children, face painting
by Gin C Productions. New this year, the experienced staff
of The Fun Factor will be orchestrating family fun, including wacky
relay races geared for all ages and abilities, and Tom Sawyer's White
Washed Fence, a picket fence canvas for the artists in the family.
Everyone
will want to participate in the all-out cookie decorating contest
held by the gourmet cooking store, EuroStoves of Beverly. Elan
frozen yogurt will be giving away a "healthier-for-you" indulgence
for all to enjoy, and the Polar Bear from Polar Beverage will make
a frosty appearance along with a new sugar-free soda.
But in
addition to watching the show, spectators can hop aboard a wagon
for a hayride. Draft horses will pull passengers in a hay wagon
around the show grounds, guided by expert driver, Scott Colby of
Foxmere Farm in Amesbury.
On hand
to answer questions and let everyone get a closer look at riding
equipment and clothing, equestrians will participate in a parade
and fashion show with horses. They will demonstrate tack and
wardrobe for different equestrian disciplines, including fox hunting,
dressage, polo, thoroughbred racing, saddle seat, carriage driving,
and western riding. Family day will also host a number of events
sure to entertain children of all ages.

City
to Saddle Luncheon
A benefit luncheon will support City to Saddle, a program that enables
underprivileged, inner city children to enjoy the benefits of horseback
riding, and encourages them to exercise patience and compassion, while
building confidence and trust in horses and other people. City to Saddle
was the inspiration of two riders who had both witnessed - and personally
enjoyed - the many benefits derived from the unique and powerful relationship
between human and horse. The program has been graciously
hosted by Dana Hall School Riding Center Summer Horsemanship Program
in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and at several private equestrian facilities
during the summer months. To learn more, visit their website
