Meijer, known for their super retail and grocery centers and for being named as the 2006 Retailer of the Year recently signed on as the sponsor of the CANTER fundraiser which will take place this summer during Horse Shows by the Bay Series III. The event will coincide with the production of the final Show Jumping Grand Prix on Saturday evening, August 4th. The event is being graciously sponsored by Meijer as a way to demonstrate their support of CANTER’S dedication to providing retiring racehorses with opportunities for new careers after the finish line. Another new partner to Horse Sports by the Bay is Eastfield Laundry, a full service laundry facility located on 8th Street and Garfield Avenue in Traverse City. Eastfield Laundry will be located on-site this summer providing laundry and dry cleaning services to all horse show participants. Eastfield Laundry specializes in 24 hour turn around, a clean and smoke free environment, professional ironing, and wi-fi access. Outback - Traverse City is also adding their signature gourmet brand to the horse show this summer. While watching the feature show jumping Grand Prix, VIPs will be treated to a special luncheon provided by Outback. Outback looks forward to welcoming competitors to Traverse City and will also be offering special offers to those that visit their M-31 South Location. Each Thursday of the Horse Show look for a new “wine guy” to be joining Spencer Stegenga of Bower’s Harbor Vineyard. During the weekly wine & cheese exhibitor socials representatives from Left Foot Charley Wines will accompany Stegenga to introduce their award winning labels to horse show competitors. Left Foot Charley, a relative new-comer to the Northern Michigan wine scene is looking forward to opening up their unique urban winery this July in the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Bowers Harbor Vineyards is a family run boutique winery located on the Old Mission Peninsula near to Bower’s Harbor. Both vintners are excited to be associated with the horse show and look forward to the popular Thursday afternoon get-togethers. Horse Shows by the Bay Series I, II, and III and Zada Enterprises, LLC are produced annually by Horse Sports by the Bay, Inc. All five events will take place this summer at their new horse park from July 18 – August 5th. Feature events include a weekly $25,000 Show Jumping Grand Prix, Young Jumper Qualifiers, two $10,000 Hunter Classics, World Championship Hunter Rider Sanctioning, charity fundraisers, and weekly exhibitor socials.
