Anne Kursinski Wins Golden Arrow Power and Speed Stake at 38th Annual Lake Placid Horse Show

Lake Placid, NY—June 28, 2007—Two-time Olympic Silver medalist Anne Kursinski of Flemington, NJ rode Roxana 112 to victory in the $7,500 Golden Arrow Power and Speed Stake at the 38th annual Lake Placid Horse Show.

Kursinski, who rode in the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games winning team Silver medals in 1988 and 1996, was one of seven entries at the North Elba Showgrounds to ride without penalty over the 11-jump power portion of the course to qualify for the seven-jump speed section. She was one of only two to complete the speed section without penalty and her time of 41.246 seconds gave her the win over Callan Solem of Colt’s Neck, NJ who finished fault-free in 42.369 seconds on Mianta.

McLain Ward of Brewster, NY actually beat Kursinski’s time when he rode Athos to a time of 40.971 seconds. However, a rail down at the second fence gave them four faults and left the 2004 Olympic team Gold medalist in third.
