Aachen's
Bid for the 2006 World Equestrian Games
The
15 Reasons That Speak For Aachen
The
bid book also includes a very special highlight, when opening the cover:
A grey horse curiously protrudes its head out of a front door. Next
to the door there is a sign for the bell with 'Aachen' on it. Those
pressing the button will hear a galloping horse approaching, which stops
in front of the door and neighs. After that the voice of Hans-Heinrich
Isenbart resounds: 'Welcome to Aachen, the equestrian city'; finally
the Aachen's tournament bell rings in a symbolic start.
A white
handkerchief lies on the page before last of the bid book, held by a
banderol - THE symbol for equestrian traditions, as one only comes across
in Aachen. Sunday, June 30th, 2002 is the closing date for the applications
to be sent to the FEI. The only contending applicant is Kentucky. The
decision for awarding the organisation of the World Equestrian Games
is to be awaited in September.
